Suitable for repairing old galvanized materials or as a top coat for ROVAL “R”. Finishes in a color similar to hot-dip galvanizing.
ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL is a single pack, ready to use Galvanizing Paint, requiring no mixing with any oil/solvent or additional use of a primer or top coat. You can easily use it and apply it directly to steel and galvanized surfaces. ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound combines the convenience of painting with the excellent corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanizing. ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL is a true alternative to the conventional hot-dip galvanizing system. Since ZRC Galvanizing Compound ROVAL is simply applied at room temperature, it is referred to as a ‘Cold Galvanizing Compound.

Anti-corrosion Paint and ROVAL
ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL and conventional paints differ in their anti-corrosion mechanisms. Conventional paints protect steel by shielding it from water and air, while ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL protects through an electrochemical reaction. A conventional paint film acts as a surface barrier to water and air, a method known as ‘anti-corrosion by barrier protection.’ However, when the film sustains damage or deteriorates, rust develops in that area and spreads underneath the film. In contrast, ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL employs the self-sacrificing property of zinc to protect steel. Keeping iron and zinc in close contact causes only the zinc to rust, leaving the iron intact. Although water and air penetrate through the zinc particles to the steel surface, the electrochemical reaction of zinc prevents further rust development. Even when a ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound ROVAL film is damaged, the surrounding zinc particles prevent rust from spreading.
